During the late summer of 2017, SZA caught flame, and she suddenly became R&B’s biggest name. The previous five years, SZA definitely had name recognition. Her buzz really began to grow, when she signed with TDE.
The year of 2017 was the year Kendrick Lamar established himself as a true force, in the game. While Kendrick was a major success, the label expected him to dominate. Everything that happened with SZA was a complete surprise.
SZA rode her success to three platinum singles, and a platinum album, in CTRL. That success led to Maroon 5 featuring her on “What Lovers Do,” their successful lead single. Now, SZA sits down with Flaunt magazine for an interview, where she said her next album could be her final one.
