Last year was one of hip hop’s most-unusual years. It showed the changing of music trends, over the past decade, were permanent. The year saw the birth of Cardi B and guys like Kendrick Lamar having to change up to continue making hits.
But, the last quarter of the year saw several young rappers come in and take the game over. Each city had one and 6ix9ine is New York City’s upstart. Though he is nothing like any of his predecessors, some have compared him to DMX, in a roundabout way.
6ix9ine recently stopped by Montreality and spoke with them about his rising career. Not making the mistake Lil Xan made, 6ix9ine was sure to give Tupac his props, along with citing the aforementioned X as his inspiration, along with 50 Cent. The rising rapper also spoke on his childhood, message for the youth, cure for heartbreak, and much more.
