19-Year-Old Brooklyn Boy Shot and Killed in Car While Reportedly Rapping Along To New York Artist Blizzy Banks’ “30” on Facebook Live

It’s a very crazy world we live in and that was evident in Brooklyn today. According to CNN, 19-year-old Jeremiah Dickey was in his car around 6:45pm on February 4 when he was shot in the head and killed while rapping along to a song on Facebook Live. This was Brooklyn rapper Blizzy Banks’ “30,” according to the New York Daily News. Five shots were let off in total as Dickey turned his head to see what was around him.

The shooting occurred on Elton Street and New Lots Avenue, per the NYPD. Dickey was unresponsive at the scene and ended up being pronounced dead when he arrived at a local hospital. Facebook has since taken down the live video from its platform.

“I just miss my son,” said Jeremiah’s mother, Debra Dickey, to CNN. “I shouldn’t have to be sitting here sobbing while they’re still out there running free.”

Debra described her son as very loving and was one who would love to do things for other people. As of now, no arrests have been made and the NYPD still has this case as an ongoing investigation. Prayers go out to Jeremiah’s mother and the rest of his family.
