French Montana launched a health center in Uganda, last year, and it is now helping 300,000 people

Coming into 2017, French Montana was looking like a thing of the past, as his last music failed to connect. The rapper built a lot of momentum, in the 2011-2012 period. While he was breaking through, he signed with the iconic Bad Boy Records.

But, after French Montana broke through with his first major hit record, his album stalled. After a few other singles, French Montana put his sophomore album on hold, shelving it by 2016. The next year, he announced “Unforgettable,” with Swae Lee.

Before hearing the song, it seemed like an unlikely duo, but they made one of 2017’s best songs, in all genres. The music video was shot in Uganda, where French Montana also helped establish a health center. In the year since the health center was established, 300,000 people have been helped.
