Since 2014, Cash Money Records has been more of a battle zone, than a record label. It looked like the label was on the verge of becoming a major, only months earlier. After a string of successful releases, many artists, and sub-labels, it was time for Lil Wayne to drop.
Instead of Tha Carter V, there were angry Instagram posts from Wayne that accused Birdman of stealing his money. Soon, lawsuits were filed, and Lil Wayne linked up with Jay-Z. While he announced he was signed to Roc Nation, it was just a deal with TIDAL.
On New Year’s Day, 2016, Lil Wayne and Birdman reunited in Miami, and it looked like the two were back on good terms. However, Wayne went right back to dissing him. Two years later, early in 2018, the two have reunited, once again, showing up in the club, even hugging.
