When it comes to the all-time greatest boxers, Mikey Garcia has to be added to that list, now. Entering tonight’s fight at 37-0, his hard-fought win over Sergey Lipinets brings him to 38-0. For this fight, Garcia moved down a weight class.
Mikey Garcia, already, was one of the biggest names in the whole fighting industry. But, there is a difference between someone having buzz, or popularity, versus a legacy. Tonight, Mikey Garcia solidifed his legacy.
After his victory, Mikey Garcia talked to Showtime Boxing. Fresh off his win, they started speaking on Sergey Lipinets, and the left hook that took him down. Thanking San Antonio, Mikey Garcia added that he was catching a flight to build homes, in the morning.
