Yesterday, Ebro was talking on Hot 97, and he went on a rant about the current hip hop generation. The primary targets of his rant were 6ix9ine and DJ Akademiks. He accused them of staging the arrest at 6ix9ine’s video shoot.
6ix9ine has emerged, here in the last five months, as one of the hottest rising stars. Like his Miami counterpart, Lil Pump, a bidding war has emerged over the NYC rapper. Despite this, Ebro isn’t feeling 6ix9ine, or DJ Akademiks, for that matter.
DJ Akademiks caught wind of what Ebro said about him and decided to respond. First making it clear that he knew nothing about 6ix9ine’s arrest, he went in on Ebro. Accusing Ebro of “clout chasing,” he spoke on the current era of hip hop, and how new school rappers look to people like him, not Hot 97, for coverage.
