Watching Cardi B, it’s been amazing, and inspiring to see her rise to take over the game. A year ago, Cardi B was a member of the “Love & Hip Hop” cast. Going from “Love & Hip Hop” to the Grammys in one year was a heck of a jump.
Cardi B ended up outperforming, numbers-wise, many of 2017’s biggest artists. After a monstrous 2016, DJ Khaled came into 2017, and topped his performance. There were also career runs from 2012 standouts, French Montana and Kendrick Lamar.
While Cardi B lost both of her awards to Kendrick Lamar, she definitely got more buzz, in 2017. At the Grammys red carpet, it looked as if Cardi B’s star fully emerged. With that, there will always be backlash, as she was accused of ignoring the Make-A-Wish Foundation kids, to which Cardi B went in on the person accusing her.
