Much like 2017, 2011 was a transitional year that saw many rappers who dropped breakthrough mixtapes establish themselves as stars, the next year. The year of 2011 saw 2 Chainz rise through the ranks to become a major force. In 2012, 2 Chainz owned the whole year.
2 Chainz would have similar success, in 2013, before deciding to go on hiatus, in 2014. By 2017, 2 Chainz found himself very much so the outsider in a game that drastically changed. Ultimately, 2017 proved there was still room for Chainz and his album was a success.
Adding another platinum album to his name, 2 Chainz had one of the top albums in Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. Now, 2 Chainz is back to work, having spent time on the road. Following a recent performance, he announced he’s working on his next album.
