The growth of Cardi B to become the biggest new artist in the game cements the shifts in the game. Back in late 2006, many different elements became prominent in hip hop. This change sparked the whole Hip Hop Is Dead debate, spearheaded by Nas.
Now, guys like Lil Pump are commonplace, and they have a much-deserved place in hip hop. The truth of the matter is that things change, but Lil Pump has an audience. His single, “Gucci Gang,” went from being a viral hit to now impacting the charts.
Lil Pump, like everyone, has a history and it is quite different than the average rap star. It turns out, Lil Pump was a Harvard student and he dropped out to pursue rap. His student ID badge surfaced on Instagram, this morning, but it lists a man born in 1970.
