Following years of people saying hip hop is dead, now people are killing off the R&B element. The 1990s completed a merger, of sorts, of rap music and R&B, thus making R&B hip hop. Just like with rap, the new singers are nothing like those of old.
However, that is not to discredit the up-and-coming singers that are doing their thing. Over these past few years, Justine Skye has established herself as a star. She has a few EPs out, is signed to a major label, best-known for her single, “Collide,” featuring Tyga.
Justine Skye appears finally ready to claim her position, in the game. A lot of people are looking towards SZA and Sevyn Streeter as the future ladies of R&B. But, Justine Skye looks to join them, as she says her debut album is on the way.
