Representing the new era of Motown Records, Kevin Ross released his debut album, The Awakening, earlier this year. The single, “Don’t Go,” is the biggest song off the album. Overall, “Long Song Away” is the biggest record of his career.

Kevin Ross worked behind the scenes, early in his career. In 2013, he co-wrote on Trey Songz’ hit single, “Touchin, Lovin,” with Nicki Minaj, that became a big hit. When 2017 hit, Kevin Ross went solo, and made his own mark on the game.

At the Soul Train Awards, Kevin Ross is up for ‘Best New Artist.’ He spoke with EJ, who held down the red carpet for Hip-HopVibe.com. The two discussed his nomination, The Awakening, and the new era of male R&B artists that he’s helping to usher in.
