Coming into 2017, Kendrick Lamar was an afterthought, to most. He was two years removed from his last album, which won plenty of accolades, but did not perform well, commercially. The once-popular rapper sought to reclaim his commercial appeal, and keep his honors.
Kendrick Lamar did both with a summer-banger, thought-provoking hit single. When the summer of 2017 hit, “Humble.” took over the radio, becoming Kendrick’s biggest hit, to date. The year also came complete with news of K. Dot expecting his first child.
It looks like 2017 won’t be where Kendrick Lamar’s success runs out, either. His 2017 performance has booked him a speaking gig, in the year of 2018. The Compton rapper has been tapped by Forbes to be the Keynote Speaker for their Under 30 Summit.
