Kyrie Irving reveals why he left the Cleveland Cavaliers and said “you can’t put a price on happiness” after being asked about leaving money on the table for Boston | #FirstTake | ESPN [VIDEO]

In 2010, the Cleveland Cavaliers were cast to the side, when their franchise player, LeBron James, spurned them. Doing an ESPN special, LeBron revealed he was going to the Miami Heat. That decision led to James winning two championships, previously having none.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers rebounded by drafting Kyrie Irving with the first overall pick. It was a tough grind, as the Cavaliers bottomed out, becoming the NBA’s worst team. They began a slow grind back into contention and LeBron rejoined them.

From 2014 through 2017, the Cleveland Cavaliers, through their nucleus of Irving/James/Kevin Love, the Cavs were the East’s top team. The team went to three straight NBA Finals’ appearances, playing the Warriors each time and winning the 2016 title. Now, Kyrie Irving is traded to the Boston Celtics for Isaiah Thomas and is speaking on this deal with ESPN.
