Today, Jay-Z is known for being one of the greatest businessmen in modern times. It’s nothing to see him having drinks with Warren Buffett and speaking at panels. He is the visionary behind Roc Nation, a multi-tiered entertainment firm, and the head of TIDAL, a streaming service.

Over the span of twenty-one years, Jay-Z has gone from being a drug dealer, to a rapper, to a rap mogul, to a flat out business icon. Anyone who saw his Rap Radar interview knows he feels it’s all lightwork. As any man with children would say, his biggest accomplishment is them.

However, the rest of the music world has taken a pause to honor Jay-Z the rapper. September 11 will be remembered as one of the most-devastating days in American history. But, it was also the day when Jay-Z dropped one of rap’s greatest albums, which has laid the blueprint that many current artists follow.
