Hurricane Irma is set to make landfall on the Florida Keys in the coming hours. This means, soon the storm will begin making its mark on the other states, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Based off experience, it’s better to be over-prepared than under-prepared.
In Florida, Rick Scott, their governor, has issued a State of Emergency for the entire state. Georgia’s governor, Nathan Deal, South Carolina’s governor, Henry McMaster, and North Carolina’s governor, Roy Cooper, also have made plans. Each state has temporary emergency states.
As the storm gets closer, bigger plans will be made and Georgia has prepared. This evening, the Atlanta Motor Speedway announced their facilities will be available. Everything there will be free of charge.
