In 2009, Soulja Boy proved he really did know how to make hit records, when he came back with a couple of them. After his “Crank Dat” success, many wrote him off. Even after his “Soulja Girl” hit, no one took him seriously.
Initially, critics thought they were justified when “Birdwalk” failed, as a lead single. But, everything was rethought when Soulja Boy offered his single, “Kiss Me Thru The Phone,” featuring Sammie. The single brought back the R&B star most forgot.
Soulja Boy, if all else failed, proved he could create multiple hit records, also delivering “Turn My Swag On” and “Pretty Boy Swag.” Though he is now the mixtape king, Soulja Boy hasn’t had a charting single since 2010. Given his cash flow, he doesn’t need one, and now the concept of his Sammie-assisted single has led to a new invention, possibly, as inventors have created a way to send kisses through the phone.
