With all of his albums, Kendrick Lamar brings about a certain message, one of unity and black power. On his previous album, To Pimp A Butterfly, this dominated his album’s theme. But, when he returned with Damn., Kendrick Lamar adopted some of his 2012 style with that.
Kendrick Lamar blended his mainstream success, with his message, also including self-love. The result was the biggest hit singles of his career in both “Humble” and “DNA.” That’s not even mentioning his “Loyalty” record with Rihanna.
But, Kendrick Lamar did a medley of “Humble” and “DNA” and it rocked the VMAs crowd. Aside from this, Kendrick Lamar had the fans on Twitter rocking. They all said he was “lit” in his performance, which makes him the voice of the new school, the fans love Kendrick for saying what they are trying to ignore.
