Given the summer he’s had, Kendrick Lamar is definitely in contention of being the top rapper in the game. Historically, Jay-Z has held this position, but Drake has dominated the past few years. This year has seen continued DJ Khaled domination, alongside Future and French.
However, the summer of 2017 has also seen several newcomers emerge and take their spot. Early this year, XXXTentacion began making moves that got him known, on a wide level. Other breakthrough up-and-comers include Cardi B and Kodak Black.
XXXTentacion has been written off by many rap veterans, for a myriad of reasons. However, Kendrick Lamar is not one of those guys who is hating on the new school. Instead, he took to Twitter, and offered X a series of compliments of 17, his newest album.
