Coming into 2017, XXXTentacion was a virtual no-name, but he found a unique way to raise his profile. The young rapper would begin taking shots at Drake to boost his own image. He went as far as posting photos of Drake’s mother on his Instagram.
In that regard, Drake took the advice Jay-Z offered him on his debut album and ignored him. Meanwhile, XXXTentacion soon was able to make an impact on his own. Ironically, the year of 2017 in music had nothing to do with either Drake or XXXTentacion.
Last night, XXXTentacion scared the bulk of his fans, when he deleted all of his Instagram posts. He would later return with three posts that they assumed signaled his suicide. But, XXXTentacion would explain all of this was for his new music video.
