When Rudy Gay was first drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies, he was viewed as a franchise player. While Rudy Gay was always put up the numbers, averaging roughly 18 points a game, he only led Memphis to two playoff appearances. Then, Marc Gasol proved to be the main guy.

Rudy Gay was traded, in 2013, to the Toronto Raptors, leading them in scoring before signing with the Sacramento Kings. There, Rudy Gay has averaged close to 20 points per game, going to waste. Now, he has finally decided to do something about it.

Tonight, Rudy Gay ended his free agency speculation and signed a deal with the San Antonio Spurs. As they look to reup, Rudy Gay is all but confirmed to be headed to his second-ever playoff appearance. This news has Twitter celebrating, as they’re happy for Rudy Gay going to a contender, now as he enters his veteran years.
