Currently, BET is providing some of the best programming on all of television. There has been a longing for more content from urban creators, for some time. Now, it is available in abundance and BET, fittingly, is leading the charge.

The best part about what BET is doing is them giving a chance to some newbie creators. Their new series, “Tales,” was created by Irv Gotti, best-known as the Murder Inc. founder. But, the show has a different take on music, society, and the songs of old.

Before returning on July 11 with episode two, “Tales” premiered tonight in epic fashion. It was based on NWA’s “F*ck The Police,” following a white young man named Brody Wilson (Matthew Noszka), who lives in a reality where whites are the disenfranchised race. Long story short, he dies in the end, being choked to death by the police, gasping “I can’t breathe,” before dying.
