Well, that article back in April about Russell Westbrook not going to win the MVP, that was wrong. What a good thing to be wrong about, though. Love him or hate him, Westbrook played insane basketball, this past season.
After Kevin Durant left the Thunder, many people expected Westbrook to leave, this season. When he chose to stay, people expected the Thunder to miss the playoffs. Well, the Thunder still managed 47 wins, a heroic Westbrook performance, and a thrilling series vs. Houston.
Russell Westbrook’s efforts did not go unnoticed, as he is the 2017 NBA MVP. No, LeBron James wasn’t even nominated and it doesn’t even matter. Westbrook is the one who ended Steph Curry and Kevin Durant’s MVP domination and the NBA fans are all for it.
