Karyn Parsons talks #FreshPrinceofBelAir untold stories, speaks on black empowerment, and gets emotional on #SwayInTheMorning [VIDEO]

One person who has been out of the spotlight for the past twenty years, for the most part is Karyn Parsons. The irony, here, is that she’s been on television, daily, since 1996, and she’s highly visible. But, people probably don’t even know her name, she’s Hillary Banks to most.

“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is definitely THE retro classic sitcom and opened the door for the current hip hop-infused television landscape. A lot of people, nowadays, aren’t even aware Will Smith began as a rapper. It is his journey that laid the blueprint for rapper/actors.

Karyn Parsons stopped by Shade 45, speaking to Sway for “Sway In The Morning.” During the interview, Karyn spoke with Sway about “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” telling some untold stories about the show. Then, she spoke on her own roles in black empowerment, getting emotional over the current landscape.
