This is the second time Kevin Durant has played in the NBA Finals. He last played in the Finals in 2012, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to their lone appearance in the NBA’s money round. Despite a strong Game 1 win, that year, KD lost to LeBron’s Heat.
Like Kevin Durant, LeBron James is no longer with the team he led to the 2012 NBA Finals. Instead, James is back with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that drafted him. Last year, he led the Cavs to an improbable series win vs. the Warriors, prompting them to sign KD.
Kevin Durant spoke to the press in the NBA Finals pre-interviews, which took place yesterday. Coming into the game, KD spoke of what the keys to winning Game 1 are for the Warriors, and his own growth. He spoke on that, playing against LeBron, his teammates, and more.
