It has to really suck for Mark Jackson to ALWAYS have to commentate the Golden State Warriors like he ain’t used to coach them. Man, back in the day, the Warriors used to be the biggest joke in the NBA. Well, except for 2007, and when the Charlotte Bobcats played.
But, Mark Jackson was a former NBA player doing commentary and doing well. He stepped down from commentating, in 2011, to take over as coach of the Warriors. By 2013, the Warriors were in the playoffs and made it again in 2014, going back-to-back for the first time in years.
Mark Jackson was abruptly fired after the Warriors got blown out in Game 7 by the LA Clippers. The Warriors hired Steve Kerr as coach, a man who never coached before, they won 67 games, and the championship, then they won the most games in NBA history. Now, Mark Jackson has to pretend he’s okay with all that, so he quoted Kendrick on that KD play.
