Celtics have 45% chance of beating Cleveland Cavaliers in Eastern Conference Finals + Is Isaiah Thomas’ 2017 run comparable to Jason Kidd in 2002?

Nobody in NBA history has had a journey to stardom like Isaiah Thomas, ever. Drafted in the second round, Isaiah Thomas was thought of as a bench player and a good role player, at best. Drafted by the Kings, IT soon became a journeyman, traded to the Phoenix Suns.

Isaiah Thomas was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2015 and he quickly blossomed into the franchise player. He turned their season around and led Boston back to the playoffs for the first time in two years. Two years later, he has them number one in the East and back in the East Finals.

Analysts are saying the Celtics have a 45% chance to beat the heavily favored Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James has gone to the finals every year since 2011 and it seems as if no one can stop his squads. But, Boston does have home court advantage, and them being led by a journeyman point guard is reminiscent of Jason Kidd’s unlikely 2002 run with the New Jersey Nets.
