A guy like DJ Khaled is hard for any and everybody to understand. He is a person who dedicated himself to the music, so he was always going to find his way right to the top. Yeah, his journey has taken a little over ten years, but he’s here.
DJ Khaled was in all those old Fat Joe videos, as way back as 1998. It took the Miami DJ eight years before he even had his own singles. Even then, people weren’t taking it seriously, but the Cash Money comeback was a lot of Khaled’s work, before he even signed with the label.
Continuing to grow and evolve, DJ Khaled traded that in for a management deal with Roc Nation, under Jay Z. His label, meanwhile, is an actual partnership with Epic Records and his new single, “I’m The One,” featuring Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Quavo, and Chance The Rapper, is number one. He celebrated the Grateful single going number one at “Dear Mama.”
