Four years ago, Rich Homie Quan rose to fame with “Type of Way” becoming one of summer 2013’s biggest singles. Although “Differences” also made waves, Rich Homie Quan was still written off. Most thought he would be a one hit wonder.
Rich Homie Quan proved he had staying power when “Walk Thru” featuring Problem dropped in 2014. Then, he and Young Thug assisted Birdman on “Lifestyle,” one of 2014’s biggest summer anthems. Finally, in 2015, “Flex (Ooh Ooh Ooh)” dropped and was another summer track.
Last year, Rich Homie Quan was noticeably missing, but he changed all of this now. In 2017, Rich Homie Quan has Back to the Basics, a mixtape, which is just as big of a social media discussion as Kendrick Lamar’s whole album. Twitter is giving RHQ his props for living up to his promise and delivering a dope album.
