Jermaine Dupri talks discovering new talent, battle rapping with Timbaland, and more with #TheBreakfastClub [VIDEO[

During the 1990s, a lot of people were able to come into the hip hop industry and make a lot of money. Moguls were popping up all over the nation and delivering memorable music. This era saw Puff Daddy, Master P, Jay Z and Dame Dash, and Jermaine Dupri emerge.

Jermaine Dupri held the keys to the South with So So Def, even though his first artist, Da Brat, was from Chicago. But, the Atlanta hip hop scene flocked to JD’s label. Later years also saw him have Bow Wow on the label, even though he grew up in Atlanta.

Recently, Jermaine Dupri stopped by “The Breakfast Club,” talking with the trio, DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God. There, he would discuss his knack for discovering new talent, battle rapping with Timbaland, and much more. Back in the day, he and Timbaland were considered the two top producers in the game.
