YRS Jerzy’s Wednesday Throwback: Lauryn Hill – “Ex-Factor”

By YRS Jerzy
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Anyone who grew up in the 1990s remembers Lauryn Hill, before she was a grandmother. As dope as it is that Lauryn Hill is now the mother of three generations, she was an amazing artist. Now, she is always in the news for being late to her concerts.

But, there is a reason Lauryn Hill remains a major force in the game, even after mishaps like those. The reason is that she is dope, a top five singer, and rapper in her prime. Whether they admit it or not, the archetype for the likes of Drake and Nicki Minaj.

In 1998, Lauryn Hill finally delivered her solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, a multi-platinum success. Each song off the album was a classic, and every single a hit. But, this one, “Ex-Factor,” managed to stand out among the rest of them, and this is this week’s Wednesday Throwback.
