Jay Z is reportedly launching a venture capital fund with help from Sherpa Capital and is the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame

Over the past twenty-one years, Jay Z has done things once believed impossible. When Kingdom Come dropped, Jay Z made it clear he wasn’t a rapper, but a businessman who used rap as his first venture. At the time, he was taking shots from Jim Jones and Fat Joe.

Meanwhile, Jay Z just made amends with Nas, signing him to Def Jam in the process. A decade later, Jay Z’s Roc Nation signed Jim Jones, meanwhile Fat Joe is a TIDAL member. His man, DJ Khaled, is one of the people signed to Roc Nation’s management arm.

Combined with Beyonce, Jay Z is hip hop’s first billionaire, but he is looking to earn that title, outright. He is making moves, behind the scenes, to launch a venture capital fund and Sherpa Capital is going to help him. Aside from this, Jay Z has made history as the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
