The past year has seen a huge shift in T.I., with both messages online and messages in his music. In the eyes of most, including himself, T.I. created trap music. Now, T.I. has taken on the role of a political activist, using his platform to raise awareness.
Some fans have been taken aback by seeing T.I., out of all people, trying to be the voice of reason. When fans have tried calling him out on that, T.I. argues that people grow and change, even him. In the hip hop world, he has been the most-vocal critic of the new president.
T.I. recently stopped by “Sway In The Morning,” talking to Sway about all he has going on. He would address why he chose to call Lil Wayne out, via social media, over Black Lives Matter, before getting into the deeper topics. Another topic would be trap music going too far, i.e. spilling out into real life.
