After what BET did with New Edition’s biopic, fans say they should do every major biopic. Some even joked and said BET should redo the biopics of Aaliyah and Whitney Houston that Lifetime did. This work was a long time coming for BET and everyone is proud of them.
Furthermore, everyone is proud of New Edition and how honest they were in their story. When most people do biopics, they only want the rise to success to be shown. But, The New Edition Story showed the rise to success and the struggle that came with it.
Everyone did a superb job and much credit goes to BET for being so dedicated to making this happen. This morning, BET revealed the program amassed 19 million viewers, likely reminding Bryshere “Yazz” Gray of the early “Empire” ratings. After learning this, Michael Bivins shared a special message to BET, and the fans.
