After The New Edition Story, all of the BET jokes have to end. This biopic brought everything, great dialogue, excellent acting, and limitless star power. While the movie clearly starred Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, playing Michael Bivins, many big names played minor roles.
Outside of Yazz, Luke James, Algee Smith, Elijah Kelley, Woody McClain, and Keith Powers, many big names had roles. Supporting roles came from LaLa Anthony, Wood Harris, Tank, and Duane Martin. Not to forget, Monica Calhoun also played in the biopic.
Somehow The New Edition Story even found a way for Michael Rappaport to have a role. But, surprising to many, was Bobby Brown’s character was limited to only a handful of scenes not pertaining to New Edition. Because of this, Whitney Houston only got a mention, but no actual role, leaving fans like, “where’s Whitney?”
