To be an NBA fan actually from North Carolina and to have watched from 2002 until now is the only way to understand this. Basketball on the NBA level has been tough for Charlotte fans. There was the 2002 relocation, the Bobcats, the 2012 season and draft, and the 2015 season.

Kemba Walker was drafted in 2011 and his rookie year was the 7-59 season. He was mostly a backup point guard, but he worked his way up the ranks and is now the franchise player. The only thing Kemba was missing was an All-Star nod.

Even though Charlotte lost the All-Star game to New Orleans, they will still be reflected, and not for the Hornets’ history. This one is for the future of the Hornets’ franchise, with Kemba Walker representing. NBA Twitter is all over this one, because it’s a pretty historic moment.
