Before there was ever a Steph Curry, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, or a Bradley Beal, there was Brandon Roy. Back in 2006, Brandon Roy joined the Portland Trail Blazers and soon had them contenders. The team had struggled during the early 2000s after the 2000 playoffs.

Brandon Roy looked like the brightest rising star in the NBA. With that in mind, Brandon Roy played up to the hype, but it wouldn’t be long before injuries caught up with him. From 2010 until the official end of his career, Brandon Roy was a shell of himself.

With the way the current NBA style is, Brandon Roy could easily be the league’s best player. But, that would mean Brandon Roy not coaching for Nathan Hale High School, where he’s at now. He’s been there for a while, but their game airing on ESPNU cast a spotlight on it for people who didn’t know and they are sharing this info on Twitter.
