Lee Daniels gets lambasted for his comments about “making white people feel good to be white” and some fans are even wishing ill against #STAR

Racial tensions, between black and white, have been worst over the past five years than they have been in decades. While race relations have declined, black television is on the upswing. The man behind much of the new shows is Lee Daniels.

Two years ago, Lee Daniels brought “Empire” to the masses to tremendous success. He appears to be doing the same thing with “Star,” starring Jude DeMorest and also including Queen Latifah and Lenny Kravitz. But, his recent interview with Ebony has sparked controversy.

Already, Lee Daniels spoke on casting Jude DeMorest as the titular character, “Star.” He said he did it in order to bring the country back together and he expanded on this in his Ebony interview, where he said he didn’t want to just write black characters, wanting to make white people comfortable with being white, again. For this, he’s caught ire on Twitter.
