Still, homosexuality is a hot-button issue and was the driving force behind the recent elections. Even as the LGBT community has gained prominence, they remain in the minority. But, the world has become much more supportive of the community.
However, there are still many conservative groups, mainly the right-wing and also the Black church community that is still very much so against homosexuality. In most cases, they state their stance and they move on. What Kim Burrell did and said was much more controversial.
Kim Burrell was recently at church, speaking, when she called out all gay men and lesbians. She called them “perverted” and then went on to say that they would all die in 2017. Those harsh words were not easily accepted by the LGBT community and they hit her back just as hard, feeling as though her apology was half-hearted.
