Few artists have enjoyed the type of success and longevity that R. Kelly has over the years. His career spans twenty-five years and he’s worked with some of everybody. Along the way, R. Kelly also made a few hit records.
To last as long as R. Kelly has, it means being willing to change with the times. His early hits included “Bump N Grind,” “Down Low,” and a few others. Later, he delivered “I Believe I Can Fly,” before “I’m Your Angel” with Celine Dion.
During the current era, R. Kelly doesn’t have as many hits, but he is defined to the current generation with “Trapped In The Closet.” That single, all five parts of it, and the music videos, landed him an IFC deal. Now, R. Kelly tells the AJC that he has 35 more chapters of “Trapped In The Closet” coming soon.
