A vibrant spirit was brought into the NBA when Craig Sager rose as one of the leading broadcasters of the league. Just as much as the players, Craig Sager was a star. Until this year, he did everything in NBA media, except cover the NBA Finals.

However, due to his battle with cancer and him being told he had six months to live, TBS and ABC worked out a deal. The photo above is from Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals. Clearly, that moment was one of the happiest in Craig Sager’s life.

Craig Sager, unfortunately, won’t be physically present for the 2017 NBA Finals, but he will be there in spirit. The vibrantly-dressed sports broadcaster, one of the GOATs, is now gone. This afternoon, Craig Sager ended his battle with cancer with honor, and the world is now paying him homage, as TNT’s “Inside The NBA” will do tonight.
