When the Wednesday Throwback started, it was to shed light on the music that may have been forgotten, through the years. However, other hip hop-related topics soon came up. But, this week is about the music and nothing but the music.
Many younger hip hop fans may know Cassidy best for his 2012 “beef” / non-beef with Meek Mill. Long before Meek, Philadelphia had another young star in Cassidy, who enjoyed a solid run. In 2004, his debut album, Split Personality, dropped.
The second single off the album was “Get No Better” and it was one of the first summer hits of 2004. It ended up only being a minor hit, but the track helped put Mashonda on the map. Now, the song is the Wednesday Throwback with some additional vocals from Swizz Beatz.
