Don’t look now, but the Lakers are actually playing well and currently holding a playoff spot. Relax, this is the first week of the season, but the Lakers are off to a promising start. A win over Golden State was definitely something to boost morale.
While the Lakers have been building via the draft, adding Brandon Ingram through such measures, coaching was the biggest change. When the Golden State Warriors started 24-0, Luke Walton was coaching. He was the head assistant, filling in for Steve Kerr.
Luke Walton was hired by the Lakers as head coach, during the Warriors’ playoff run. Now, a major part of the mission is complete, as the Lakers have beaten the Golden State Warriors, soundly. The press could not wait to sit down with Walton and discuss this high-profile win.
