Last night, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder got a major dose of reality. After being blown out by Kevin Durant and his new team, the Golden State Warriors, the Thunder’s Cinderella run was over. Many expected Westbrook to go into Oracle and shut it down.
Russell Westbrook did go into Oracle and shut down, but it was his own game, unfortunately. Early on, Oklahoma City played very well and jumped out to a ten point lead. But, Golden State would go on a run too big to overcome, en-route to a 26 point win.
The dynamic, going into the game, was Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. After the game was over, the narrative was simply Durant and his domination. Post-game, the media caught up with Russell Westbrook, who was obviously disappointed, as he discussed the loss and his poor performance.
