While “Empire” has shown the final result of success in the hip hop world, “Atlanta” is showing the struggle of getting there. No, not every hip hop-oriented show should be compared, but that one is hard to overlook. Give Donald Glover his props for giving intellectual comedy.
“Atlanta” centers around Earnest Marks (Glover), as he tries various schemes to get rich. When the series begins, Earn approaches his cousin, Alfred aka Paperboy (Brian Tyree Henry) to be his manager. It is not well-received, as Earn wasn’t present when his mom died.
But, over the course of the first season, Earn and Paperboy bonded and finally made a little money. Along the way, they had a hilarious encounter with Justin Bieber (Austin Crute). Tonight, Earn finally had some money in his hand, which he rightfully gave to Vanessa (Zazie Beetz), as he returned to his storage room home, which Twitter respected, but are sad over.
