Hands down, “The Breakfast Club” is the most-popular show on the radio. Hosted by DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God, the show pushed Power 105.1 over Hot 97 as the number one radio station in hip hop. That, within itself, is a major accomplishment.
DJ Envy, ironically, got his start at Hot 97 and he’s brought more success to Power 105, via “The Breakfast Club.” A lot of the success has come with some awkward encounters. Such interviews as Lil Mama, Birdman, Fredro Starr, and Beanie Sigel are now infamous.
Recently, N.O.R.E. hosted Angela Yee and DJ Envy on “Drink Champs” with DJ EFN in Miami. They interviewed them and discussed the part that Charlamagne plays in making the interviews more awkward. The two would also discuss what helped the show get over the hump, and much more.
