The emergence of NWA, Ruthless Records, Death Row Records, and their subsequent falls shows how things get out of hand. Initially brilliant, a story was told of young men who overcame circumstances to make a fortune. They did so by spreading happiness, instead of hate.
However, Death Row Records eventually became a place where crimes were often committed. Soon, drugs and murder were associated with the label. The rise and fall of this was the focus of last year’s iconic-selling movie, Straight Outta Compton.
Michel’le was omitted from the movie, so she partnered with Lifetime to bring Surviving Compton to life. In the movie, Rhyon Nicole Brown is playing Michel’le and it is detailing her abusive history with Dr. Dre (Curtis Hamilton). The introduction of Suge Knight’s character, portrayed by R. Marcos Taylor, has Twitter going in, both for his history and Taylor playing him again.
