This afternoon, a disturbing news story emerged about a person who almost died on a Delta flight. While the person was in need, a black woman stepped up and told the attendant that she was a doctor. The flight attendant did not believe her.
Racially, it appears as if the culture has been set back sixty years, at the least. But, for a person to accuse an adult of lying about being a doctor with a life on the line is a new level of bad. In response to this story, many people have stepped up and spoken up.
#WhatADoctorLooksLike began trending after Philip Lewis did a piece on the unfortunate news. Now, several female, African-American, doctors have flooded Twitter with their response of what a doctor looks like. These are the proud faces of medicine.
