Following a powerful, yet brief inaugural “Empire” season, fans could not wait for season two. Early season two spoilers indicated a Philadelphia rapper, Bre-Z, would be joining the cast. But, Bre-Z didn’t just join the cast, she changed the dynamics of the show.
Portraying Freda Gatz, Frank Gathers’ (Chris Rock) daughter, Bre-Z brought a new energy to the show. She helped Lucious (Terrence Howard) score a major single and scarred Jamal (Jussie Smollett) for life when she shot him. Her portrayal last night was very gripping.
Bre-Z visited Sway at Shade 45 for “Sway In The Morning,” when she discussed the current state of hip hop. Praising DMX, Bre-Z believes the dark man is on his way back. She would briefly discuss “Empire,” before doing her freestyle.
