In 1992, Martin Lawrence joined FOX with his self-titled classic sitcom. The show not only helped Lawrence become a household name, but it opened the door for others. Among the breakout stars was Tommy, played by Thomas Mikal Ford.
Known for not having a job and having his pastor moments, Tommy was the voice of reason. After “Martin” ended, Ford would play on “The Parkers” during early seasons as Kim’s (Countess Vaughn) father. Recently, he made an appearance on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” with Kenya Moore.
Earlier this afternoon, news broke of Tommy Ford being on life support. As we began reporting this story, an update came via Angie Martinez at Power 105.1 that Mr. Ford died. Now, people have flooded social media to pay their respects.
